2026 tOSU Offense Discussion

INEXCUSABLE

I mentioned it before, almost any category you want to look at other than EPA on drop back passing (4) they are 50-80 something nationally.

It’s why I was so doubtful pre USC and continue to be. It’s got little to do with the QB. The rest of the team isn’t good enough to up their game and help him out.

The other WR’s are if they can get the ball.

The OL, TE and RB rooms just don’t have enough to give (coaching/talent combo- not splitting hairs on which)

Beyond that, these redzone issues have been a constant. Even that dominant 2019 (best team of my lifetime for sure) team bowed out early cause we couldn't punch the fucking ball in.

Day's always struggled with that to a degree, and the struggle doubles without the overwhelming talent that we no longer have here.

I don't think the heavy TE offense is particularly effective in college period even if you had an elite TE room, when you keep forcing it with this TE group that has proven to be pretty mediocre, it's even worse.

INEXCUSABLE

There’s a typo here

Ohio state is not 57th in the country in red zone TD %

They are 67th

And while this has frequently been a problem under Day, it hasn’t been every year

In 2022 OSU was 6th
In 2024 they were 5th

I would call last year’s #32 showing a failure by Buckeye standards

Every other year going back to 2020 has been #45 or lower

This year 67th place is the worst of this decade by ten places

Just for giggles. The rest of our schedule defensive ranks in overall adjust EPA per play:

Oregon- 5th
Northwestern-66th
Nebraska-34th
Tsun-17th

If we make the B1G CG somehow
IU-9th
UCLA-4th

Teams already played:
Texas -1st
Iowa -12th
Maryland -58th
USC-113th
Illinois- 126th

I show that and also the trend of the offense to point out, it started to degrade pre Sayin injury
