2026 tOSU Defense Discussion

[1926Buckeyes]

Buckeyes are currently #1 in the FBS in passing efficiency defense.

Still have the main part of the schedule, but I definitely thought they'd have more issues and compensate for it with more turnovers and sacks. Much different from last year, but still annoyingly suffocating.

The one guy I had trust in has been a liability. Disappointed disappearing.

Who are you talking about?

Unfortunately, the Buckeye writers puff up players, and those players don't produce as such on the field. There's always a reason why these portal players leave their teams.....Day (and Pantoni?) haven't made many killer NIL grabs as of late. Cannot decide whether they are poor judges of talent (not likely) or don't want to break the bank, and throw off the current NIL structure by paying big money. Guess kinda answered my own question.

I don’t want to bash but he plays a lot. I’m not saying.

Getting Alliegro back for this game would be YUGE! I love how our DL has been playing against Iowa and Maryland. And Nebraska demonstrated that Indy's rushing game can be shut down. Big challenge for the good guys.

I think the transfer portal guys, at least those from Alabama, are coming along. It cracks me up living in the south that we've been using Alabama like a triple-A farm team the last few years.

Then why say anything?

If you're talking about Pierce, he graded out the highest of the LBs this week and I've got to trust a Butkus winner and AA at LB as to his rotation.

Nope couch coaches and fat fucks on 97.1 know better. Somehow.

Pierce quoted yesterday:

• On his personal play: "I feel like I've done pretty well within our scheme. I don't think a lot of people really understand exactly what we're asked to do, so I don't really take much consideration of what they have to say. So it's like I'm just doing what (Matt Patricia) wants me to do, and I feel like I've done a good job. I've graded out a champion multiple weeks in a row. So that's ultimately all I can do."

That’s what I wanted MP is happy so am I. I’d be happier with more sacks interceptions and tackles for loss. He’s reaching his peak which is all anyone can ask.
