After 3 games the cream is starting to rise to the top. Time to get the best players in the game more across the board.

I know it was Kent State but I was really impressed with Moore and Perez holding down the middle of the DL. IF they both continue to impress it's going to pay big dividends down the road.

Also, kudos to Braxton Rembert #41 for disrupting the play and causing a fumble that Jamie Perez took into the end zone for a TD.

I didn’t realize it but we gave up 200 yards rushing. What a disappointment the front 7 has been.

Even the beat guys like Birm and Austin along with Doug and Bill think it’s time to just play the younger guys on defense.
I’d like to see Perez occasionally. There’s no way he’s worse than what we saw today

I agree. Stick with Alford and Pettijohn at linebacker. Play Wilder a lot more. Plug Perez in there. Obviously Timmons stays on the field. Grady will probably help as well. Need to see less Atkinson and Pierce imo. Sanchez hasn't lived up to the hype so far, may need to see the Georgia transfer in there with longer minutes. Obviously I'm not a coach but seems like a different approach may fruit better results.

The defense just has to get off the damn field. It wasn’t just 3rd and 4th downs given up too. There were a lot of 2nd and longs that somehow we gave up also. We gave up 7 conversions on 3/4 downs and gave up a few really nasty conversions too like 2nd and 20 then Illinois gets 21.
Just cut that in half and this is a different game for the defense.
If think that’s issue #2 right now. Issue number one seems to me we don’t have the DL like we typically have. There’s a noticeable drop off IMO at DT. So when you force players who aren’t as good to stay on the field because you can’t get off the field. Not great mixture.
Limit the exposure by getting off the field.
