That's the dumbest rule I've ever heard of.There’s an NCAA rule that a play will take at least 2 seconds, even a quick spike. So if the clock was at 2 it would have needed to be a throw to the end zone.

Yeah it's dumb you can spike it in 3 seconds. Just like the dumb NFL rule that if you do a replay of a TD and mark it short it's a 10 second runoff. Cause you know you can't spike or run a play in under 10 secondsThat's the dumbest rule I've ever heard of.
Wait - the fumble out the back of the endzone thing is the dumbest.
This might be the second dumbest.
It can't be real. Can it?
Can it?

What the hell is the point of that rule? That's gotta be the dumbest rule ever. Wait - I already went through that.
So dumb...
Then there is this gem:

AI is wrong, 2 seconds are required for a spike. There needs to be 3 at the start of the spike play to have 1 second left afterwards. That's the dumbest rule I've ever heard of.

Minimum Time For A Play After Spiking The Ball
ARTICLE 5. If the game clock is stopped and will start on the referee’s signal with three or more seconds remaining in the quarter, the offense may reasonably expect to throw the ball directly to the ground (Rule 7-3-2-f) and have enough time for another play. With two seconds or one second on the game clock there is enough time for only one play. (A.R. 3-2-5-I)
You and AI are saying the same thing. AI said that a minimum of 3 seconds is required to run a spike and still have time for the next play. So, 2 seconds (at a minimum) will be ticked off for a spike. If there's 1 or 2 seconds on the clock, the game (or half) will be over.AI is wrong, 2 seconds are required for a spike. There needs to be 3 at the start of the spike play to have 1 second left afterwards.
The rule from the actual NCAA publication is this:
