Probably the wrong thread, but it is related to The Cheaters. Sen. John Kennedy (LA) was interviewed a little bit ago. When he was asked about what the Senate needed to get done immediately he mentioned the legislation to regulate college sports. His answer was basically Congress doesn't have much choice. In his words the NCAA does not have the "Testicles or backbone" to do what needs to be done. I immediately thought of The Cheaters as Exhibit A as the NCAA "knew and could prove" they conducted the biggest cheating scandal in the history of college sports. While I don't agree with the government getting involved (as I can't picture anything they have done well), I do understand their point with the NCAA lacking the testicles and backbone to do their job.

I'm not going to comment on politics. And I don't know anything about Sen. John Kennedy. But I wonder if he's actually referring to the fact that the SEC hasn't been able to get to the championship game for 3 years, and "do what needs to be done" really means that they need to ensure more cheating to happen within the SEC and less cheating outside of the SEC, just like what their fans would consider "the good ol days".

I wonder if the right Honorable Gentleman from Louisiana is aware that the proposed bill keeps the NCAA in charge of the very thing it's fucked up for 50 some odd years?
