2025 scUM Shenanigans, Arguments - NCAA: no wins taken away, no postseason ban

Here is my silver lining in all this cheating and punishments....

If OSU goes back to kicking their asses again for the next 2 decades, UM will ultimately blame the sanctions. As long as they feel the penalties did immense damage, thay will help me feel better. Haha
You had me at kicking their ass for 2 decades. If the Bucks do so, I'll be 75 and I will request another 25 years, minimum.

I agree with what he says, but any punishment on the team does not punish the current players, because they are free to transfer out. Maybe not free to transfer at any minute. But they're free in certain windows. And I think a major punishment like that would have opened one of those windows. But if a stud player wants to go to a post-season, win a championship, etc., he can go somewhere else and do that there.

Also, are there not still players from the 2022 and 2023 teams on their roster?

If there was any question (there was not) as to whether the financial penalty for Michigan would have any significant impact we have the answer in the commitment of Savion Hiter. I don't know his price tag but UM found the money 4 days after receiving a 25-30 million fine.

The UM fans must be dancing in the streets, and I think I am about done in.

So... I finally read through the full COI's infraction report. And this is how my reactions would have went (if I didn't already know the result) as I read along...

I'm not really sure how you use some derivative of 'LEVEL 1 VIOLATION' that many times in your report (36 times by the way) and decide, "Meh, Let's just fine them the equivalent of $200 to the common everyday person and put them on more probation."

Agreed.

The NCAA has lost the existence of "ineligible players" so they have zero leverage to do anything and even less appetite to do it if it might hurt a cash cow.

As it applies to OSU and others though, only a fool fails to learn.
