2025 scUM Shenanigans, Arguments, etc.

There's no almost. The entire game plan was totally inexplicable. We refused to attack their weakness and played into their one strength pretty much all day long. I will never not be bitter about that game. They were in Day's head, okay; but why didn't Chip, his supposed mentor, talk some fucking sense into him? Ugh.

Hopefully playoff Day is here to stay and getting over the national title hump will keep him from going into a stupid john cooper esque shell in The Game.

I'm hoping that was the confidence boost he desperately needed. There's a GREAT coach in there...it takes a great coach to run that gauntlet with that all on the line. But he HAS to get over his scUM bugaboo.

The only reason I said almost is because I offer the one and only plausible explanation in the very next sentence

It’s not a rational explanation, but someone being in your head is never rational
Hey, if it had worked it would have been brilliant and would have crushed Sharonna's soul. It, however, was clear halfway through the first quarter that it was not going to work. There should have been a backup plan to light up the passing game, and that switch should have been made. Instead, Day doubled and tripled down on what was clearly going to be a losing strategy.

Seeing what an unpopular and unprofessional trainwreck Desmond is, why on earth would they bring on their own version of him.
They're bringing him in to be their own version of McAfee, not Desmond.

The problem here though is that Portnoy is the worst versions of both of them.

And somehow they thought it would be a good idea to bring him on despite Columbus carrying their water.

Truly a baffling decision. What Ohio State fan is ever going to watch that show now? And I cannot even imagine the reception they're going to get each time they come to Columbus over the next 5 years. Urban is not going to be enough.

We weren't the only ones. USC and Minnesota off the top of my head. They literally could only do one thing....stop the interior run. And that's including on offense.

Exactly, the only thing scUM had going for them last year was the power to somehow make teams go full stupid on offense against them.

Glad I dont watch pregame shows anymore. I mean, whats the point? Last I saw, they were light on analysis, as an industry standard not just the fine folks at ESPiN. Heavy on hype, which im just not interested in. So... I could give a shit who the personnel is gonna be.

If I had my way, every game would be broadcast in the spider cam view they had during the play offs. And nothing but the stadium announcer calling down and distance. Color commentary? We'll, I guess that depends on your guests and ones willingness to engage jn conversation during a game, I spoze.

I haven't watched a second of Gameday or any of the other pregame shows since probably 2018 or 2019.
