2025 scUM Shenanigans, Arguments, etc.

getting close to 30 years ago and I still get a thousand yard stare when it hits me

"gutted" doesn't even begin to describe it
For me it'll always be Ted Ginn's injury. Completely changed the trajectory of that game. I'm not saying FU wouldn't have done what they did, but we would have had a fighting shot, too, with Teddy in the game.

I got over that one in a normal sort of way. We just got our ass kicked.

'98 MSU was like a death in the family. I'm not kidding.

Idk, I remember watching that at a packed bar in Cincy and being so confident that OSU would dog walk UF after beating scUM. And after the 1st qt, even with the Ginn TD I knew that OSU wasn't in the same stratosphere of what I was watching with UF. That game made me believe in the power of a great DL, and more importantly great pass rushers. Even with a healthy Ginn, OSU would get dismantled. Smith had no time to throw the ball, and I mean no time

'98 MSU hurt, and 2013 and 2015 MSU were just as bad. Imo 2015 was arguably the worst. A few Zeke handoffs and OSU gets the W. I had no fear of any team in the country with that team at full strength.

See I always thought a bit differently about that game. I thought we were finding success running the ball with the backs but we kept putting Troy in bad positions. Then when we had to air it out they knew it and made life miserable for Troy.

We still would have lost but I don’t think the teams were as different as you might think. The long layoff, the dangerous underdog UF team, then the Ginn injury to boot. Just a crappy night.

I remember thinking it was going to be an ass whipping after that opening kickoff.

Worst sports loss I've ever experienced. That year felt like destiny and the culmination of 3 years of building towards something magical. Then, in one horrific 3 hour stretch, it was all ripped right out from under us. I was in disbelief for several days.

To me by far the worst loss ever was The Game 2024

justice dictated that it should have been an epic beat down

the result was the most unjust thing that I have seen in the inconsequential world of sports

It has left me in a place where I care far more about the cheaters getting hammered than I do about football. Honestly, I’m finding it damn difficult to give a flying fig about football. I’m beginning to wonder if my love for the sport has dried up entirely

Just hammer the skunk weasels. If they get it bad enough… maybe then I can revisit what’s left of this sport for me

it wasnt just one game that did this. that game was just the anvil that left a grease spot where the camel used to be (we’re way past the straw and broken back stage)

Troy Smith gaining 30 pounds on the awards circuit leading up to that game didn't help with avoiding that pass rush.
Smith wasn't getting away from the Moss-Harvey pass rush unless he had TG7 speed. He was running for his life the minute the ball was hiked, OSU's OL hadn't seen a DL like that all year

That didn't hurt as much to me, probably for the reason you mention...my passion for the sport has dried up significantly. If tCun don't get absolutely hammered, that might be the actual death blow for me. With all the other issues, if rampant, blatant cheating isn't appropriately punished, why should I give a single shit anymore?
