2025 scUM Shenanigans, Arguments, etc.

They've known they are cooked for awhile, admitting to fault wouldn't do them any good as the penalties likely would not have been lowered much since clearly the NCAA was not going to budge. There was a point early on where they just shifted to deflection and playing the victim bullshit as their "strategy". The end game for scUM is to keep denying denying denying and to try to paint the NCAA as massively overreaching and being the real villain when the shit really comes down.
Their goose was cooked when they decided to be arrogant jagoffs and uncooperative from the start. Right on the heels of a prior investigation where they were...wait for it...arrogant jagoffs and uncooperative. They fucked themselves.

As they spin round the echo chamber trying to convince themselves all is well, keep in mind that Ono going out the way he did is the concrete data point.

That happened and it can only be read one way.

University Presidents don't take step down jobs in the middle of the night voluntarily.
What if they had just gotten a big fat extension and raise, though?

One point of order. They never decided to be arrogant jag offs. They are arrogant jag offs.

It would have in the very beginning. Unfortunately for their long term prospects, their President at the time was an emotionally damaged jock-sniffer whose only priority was in doing whatever would endear him to the foosball players and coaches the most. Now, it's too late for the new interim President to come in and undo the damage.

In private, I think they know this and that's why Ono was given his soft exit. At this late stage, they also know that there's nothing they can do to undo Ono's disastrous strategy, so they're boxed in to just let it play out and cry victim when they get fisted by the COI.

Nah, they'd still bolt for the most toxic job in higher education. Perhaps UF offered him extensive locker room privileges that tsun wasn't willing to offer? That might explain it.

FBI: Mr. Ono. There are extensive folders of hacked noods of female athletes on Weiss' computer.

Ono: Any noods of football players?

Someday, there'll be a documentary about all of this.
Sadly, I think they won't capture every part of this story.
The documentary won't include anything with Ono: what his involvement is, or knowledge of it, or what he knew or when he knew it, or the nature of his departure...
And I'm almost as interested in this part of the story as I am the part with Stalions and the vacuum cleaners.

It’s just wild to me that none of them think they’re getting punished. I seriously don’t think they understand the gravity of what they did. Look what Arizona State and Kentucky got in the last 3 years.

Now ask yourself, is cheating in games worse than recruiting violations (which you already did too anyways)? Um, you bet your ass it’s worse.

So am I to understand that TCUN will get nothing vacated and no post season ban while that’s exactly what ASU/UK got for far less situations? Get the fuck out of here.

I’ve even heard Pate say recently there’s no way they can hit TCUN because they mean too much from a revenue prospective.

Try telling that to OSU, Penn State, USC, Alabama, Tennessee etc etc etc who they didn’t give a damn about handing down severe punishment.

I don't know. If it's anyone independent of tsun, I don't know how they would ignore how pathetic, incompetent, weird and creepy Ono was throughout the whole thing. Harbaugh and Stalions are clearly the main focus, but you can't ignore the weird jock-sniffer in the corner. I guess I could see the lawyers saying just ignore Ono because the reality is so off the rails that a jury in a defamation trial might just assume you've made it all up.

The funny thing is that at UC I thought he was just a poor man's Gordon Gee who cynically used the athletic department to boost his own personal popularity and brand. When he got to tsun and the scandal broke, I came to the opinion that he really is genuinely obsessed with being accepted by the foosball players on a personal level.
