I agree with Urban, there’s no way they’re getting DeBoer. Hell, I think they’re going to be hard pressed to get Brohm, s as others have mentioned. This story and the ongoing sagas of the entire program picked up too much steam. It was all over national publications outside of football and ESPN.

Brohm is likely pulling the same thing as Dillingham and gaming this to get a raise from the place he is currently at that he doesn't really want to leave.

It would be hilarious if they did hire Brohm though, especially when the dear leaders would 100% try to spin it that Brohm was their "#1 guy all along" and is a home run hire.

I thought he had retired but it seems like he is actively looking for other jobs.

Seems odd.
One of two thoughts. They signed a private Equity deal and he didn't like it. Or there are rumors they had a hot young coordinator and told him it was time to give it up or they lose him. That's all well and good but I don't think they would tell their best coach ever to step down for a hot younbg guy when he probably has 5 years or so left.

I juts read a local beat writers article, seems like there was a booster or two that made it clear they were ready for the new guy and it pissed Wittingham off. He kept saying "didn't want to be that guy who hung on too long" kind of thing.

Reading the text of his statements, he also didn't clearly say "I'm looking for a new job" It was much more wishy washy than that. I don't think his heart will ever be in it away from Utah. I also think tsun is so desperate, they will throw so much money at him, he'll have to say yes.

All of this is understandable. Moore became head coach because no one of substance was willing to put his hand up and take it. Now, Biff, is likely to get appointed because of the same reason. They need to grab their noses and flush.

Yeah after all the shit they have been through the one rule should no internal hires no coaches retained we're cleaning house.

Hatred aside, just problem solving-they'd have to clean house up to the President/BOT level and do it very publicly.

You do that and bring in a guy like Wittingham then you are on the road to "redemption" and respectability. We, as OSU fans, will never buy any of it of course but to the rest of the world, it would seem that way.

If they bring in Brohm that would be just about the worst hire for them. They tried to beat us with spread formations and speed once. Thats a recipe for not winning for another 10 years.

They need to stick to what worked which is running the ball, being efficient throwing the ball and physical defense. Wittingham would be a top choice for them I’d think.

If they bring in Brohm though I better buy more cigars because they aren’t going to out athlete Ohio State. Never have and never will.

Pretty much. you show you're at least trying to clean up the mess to the outside world. But they are too stupid to do that that so they will keep some of the old guard.

My friend who lives in SLC and attends Utes games has shared with me that Kyle is signed on as a consultant for some time. However, that doesn't mean he is limited from considering other things. Definitely sounds like it was a parting that happened due to the amount of time spent together. He didn't want to go out after last year's results.
