Maybe I don't quite understand "bluebloods", but what is Texas doing on the list? Outside of 2005-2009, have they done anything?
Or Tennessee? 1998? What else?
I thought Miami died more than 20 years ago.
Florida State won it all in 2013, and were in the championship game in 1998, 1999, and 2000.
So, looks like the idea is 12 blue bloods...
No particular order..
Ohio State
Michigan
Alabama
Nebraska
LSU
USC
Probably A&M before Tejas, I guess (damn you Bear Bryant)
Stanford or cal maybe
Tennessee
Oklahoma
Wisconsin
Pitt (because fuck Ped)
Honestly, it's hard to come up with 12. There are Honestly very few teams which have been consistently good for a long time.
Sorry, only 8 out of these have a case for the top-12. The first 6, Tennessee and Oklahoma since. So, looks like the idea is 12 blue bloods...

Yeah, I should have included them (Domers) that oversight aside, my thought was teams that have been good ish for a long time.Sorry, only 8 out of these have a case for the top-12. The first 6, Tennessee and Oklahoma since.
It would be better just to only have the first 6, and switch Oklahoma in for LSU. And the Domers should be in there too.
But, also, I am not sure there are more than 6 or 8 blue bloodsSorry, only 8 out of these have a case for the top-12. The first 6, Tennessee and Oklahoma since.

Ohio State is by FAR the most consistent of the bluebloods since 1950 or so. Our conversion rate into NCs and big bowl wins has generally not been what it should be, however. Thinking that will change as our biggest post-season games are increasing not played in exclusively hostile environments and our recruiting and in-season competition is less regionally focused and constrained by hidebound coaching. Using criteria of both past success and future potential, my only bluebloods would be Alabama, Ohio State, Oklahoma, USC (inconsistent as hell but capable of getting their shit together and wrecking shop at any time, which they've done in multiple past eras), and Notre Dame (they slept for a long time but they've had so much past success and are back in the mix). Off because I don't see them coming back despite significant past success are Miami (a blueblood should also have more than 8 fans) and Nebraska. Likely to be added soon are Georgia and Texas (too much past underachievement for me despite Georgia's recent excellence). LSU is a tough one for me. They're sort of like a poor man's USC in terms of consistency, and while they've somehow shit out three NCs this century in between stretches of being very good to OK, there isn't much going back before that and their future is sort of murky to me.Are there even that many?
