2025 NFL Draft April 24 - 26 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay

Kiper wakes up with crusted Sanders goo on his chin and immediately starts fellating him and bemoaning teams passing on him last night:
Who is going to play quarterback in Pittsburgh? If the Steelers sign Aaron Rodgers, this is less of an issue. He would at least give them a 2025 starter. But I had issue with the Saints passing on Shedeur Sanders, so I have to point out the Steelers doing the same 12 picks later. Plus, Pittsburgh doesn't have a second-round pick, meaning it will be a long wait until No. 83 on Friday night.
  • I'll mention the Jaxson Dart pick for the Giants, too -- but only because he went before Sanders. I ranked Dart 28th, which means the value was right in line at No. 25. He has the arm to drive the ball in the New York weather, and he can make plays with his legs. So the pick itself is solid. But trading three Day 2 picks over the next two years to get back into the first round for him, and passing on Sanders -- who, again, is No. 5 overall on my board -- makes it less appealing.
Yo, Mel? You do realize that NFL teams looking for someone to fill the most important position in sports actually take personality and leadership traits into consideration? Have you listened to Shadoodie speak? The kid is about one thing: Shadoodie. Everything that came out about him in the pre-draft process was how entitled he was. How sheltered under daddy's nutsack he's been. How he was NOT a good leader. Plus, maybe teams do not want the Deion circus polluting their locker rooms. And it's not as if he's a friggin' generational talent to make up for it. He slipped because the risks are not worth it. Get over it, dummy.

This is a shit draft.

Graham at #5 isn't a huge surprise, I've seen him mocked that high pretty frequently, though less as the draft got closer. It's a safe pick. The odds he flat-out busts are probably pretty low, but the odds of getting #5 pick production out of him are probably even lower. Clowns should have traded again down if they could, but that might not have even been an option.

Loveland over Warren is outrageous. But it's the Bears, so...

Grant was a huge reach. Maybe he turns into a decent interior DL, but top-15 pick production? Not bloody likely. Again, early on in the cycle I was seeing him mid-to-late 1st, but he started to fall out of most mock first rounds as the draft moved closer.

A lot of this draft seemed like teams going for safe picks that are unlikely to be horrific busts, but are also not likely to be as good as their draft position would indicate. A huge lack of top-end talent this year, so teams grabbed guys that most years would go much lower. I think 5 years from now this first round will show a lot of guys that became starters, but only a couple that became standouts (Pro-Bowlers).
yeah... graham i get. he's a legit top 5.

the other two? fuck 'em. insane. can't wait for this stage of tcun's "past glories" to be over. nobody needs to see this shit and get any impression that they develop players up in that shithole.

somebody talk me off the ledge, but how the f*ck does tcun get 3 top-15 picks in?

i mean... like outta nowhere. what was their recruiting rank back in what... 2021/2022?

it's not dumb luck. it can't be. WTF?

EDIT: i mean i know they're good players, but not THAT good... not ALL three of them. freaking hell, grant's overall rank was projected at barely in the 1st round, nowhere inside the top 20.

2-4 first round picks were always the expectation for them, although Grant and Loveland were taken 10 spots too soon. It's only jarring because their team was a dysfunctional mess for most of the season.

It's close to over now. The program is held together by the dying momentum built up while cheating, and whatever black magic sacrifices Harbaugh, Weiss and Stallions made along the way.

right? jarring is the correct word. makes no sense. or maybe they spent their whole bank keeping a handful of guys in just to delay the inevitable.

i get that... but we've been saying that about them for the last 10 years... and that's what pisses me off is that, as a program, they seem to have the resilience of a cockroach.

Maybe, but they dropped off a cliff in '20. It can't be understated how much the cheating saved them post-COVID. They were heading for sub .500 seasons, coaching changes, etc.

IMO, they'll always be a cockroach needing to be stamped out, the cheating just allowed them to pretend to be elite. They're pulling out all the stops now using billionaire cash to keep the embers glowing. This will pass, the universe is just taking longer than we had hoped to return them to the path of eventually using that shithole stadium as a trash dump.

The way Mel is acting kinda makes it seem like Deion slid him some cash to fluff his son.

There's something going on. Over the last few weeks, nearly every reputable pundit was saying Shadofucknobodywantsme could/was likely to tumble because teams were questioning how his attitude would play in the NFL. Not many people are overly surprised he's still out there. But ol' Mel's acting like this is an egregious travesty.

Subprime is more concerned about his personal brand than anything. Look at that ridiculous chain he's wearing. He hasn't played a down of pro football and it has a dollar sign and "legendary" on it. The punk is a legend in his own mind already because daddy spent 20+ years telling him he is one. Wondering why you haven't been drafted? Right here...

I'm not so sure about that. They were about to completely implode following 2020 before they cooked up their big cheating scheme. Now they're embroiled in endless investigations into that and all the other dirty/disgusting stuff that was going on behind closed doors. On the field, they just lost their 4 best players and haven't replaced them with anybody close to as good as they were. They no longer have Cheatin' Jim's little brother floating them assistant coach lifelines. Seems like the chickens are coming home to roost.

Look at the chain Shadinkus wore to the draft...

There's something to be said for a little humility when you're trying to get someone to bank their future on you. It's really quite remarkable how obtuse the Sanders family is.

Prime could talk the talk because he had the generational talent to walk the walk.

Subprime, on the other hand, has an alligator mouth and a hummingbird ass when it comes to the talk/walk ratio.
