2025 Cotton Bowl: #2 tOSU vs #10 Miami-FL, Wed 12/31 7:30 ET at JerryWorld

Bottom line, one team had an experienced QB and the other had a redshirt freshman. I really believe Will Howard was the difference maker in our run last season. I’ve had time to collect my thoughts, and Sayin will be just fine. Just needs to see his second and third reads a little faster. Troy Smith had the same issue his Junior season only to win the heisman a year later. Coach needs to tell him it’s okay to run or throw the ball away if nothing is there by 3 Mississippi. I really hope some of the defensive players come back instead of declaring early. This team has a tougher schedule next season but could be really special! Happy New Year everyone!

What does it mean when I, chairman of the Lunatic Fringe Committee, really do not have any sense of doom and gloom here?
Saying was pretty good in the 2nd half. I think he was maturing before our eyes but it’s hard to see when playing catchup.
It took too long to adjust to Miami’s pass rush. Should’ve been done by 2nd quarter, not after Halftime. That has to be due to OC shuffling and lack of a perspective. Hopefully if Day is in this spot again he’ll have learned to just let Hartline go and get the staff and chain of command and information on line quicker.
The program is healthy. This is not the end. But the B1G schedule makers need to play the hits and let the iron sharpen iron. OSU can’t got 11 weeks of cupcakes and learn nothing. I’d have rather lost and early October game against a tough opponent (Like Oregon last year) and learn something about my team that I can work on for November-January.
Just my .02.

But one Lunatic comment:
Is Fielding out of eligibility yet?? JFC

I can't say I'm truly and totally disappointed. FTR I thought it would come to this. Day is a finesse style coach, offensively. Punch you in the mouth style offense, until it is found out. Running game needs to be vastly improved, as well as the o-line.

Today his style of offense got mouth punched. And lost. This is what happens to this type of product. The fact they bounced back in the 2nd half is perhaps promising.

I hope he brings this team back, and wins another natty next year.

We had a rough go at the end of the year. There’s questions now that’s for sure.

Previous to Indiana I thought “oh shit we don’t need anyone but Ohio kids”…

Now I don’t know if that’s good enough. I have never seen an OL from OSU get whooped this bad and that includes Florida from 2006z
1965 Michigan State, mean Joe Green, Mike Webster,. I think the Bucks had something like 120 yards of offense for the game. Florida State sometime in 90s. It’s happened. Feel bad for Reese, Styles, Innis -especially Innis, who Sayin never seemed to go to. Ah well. Next year.

The schedule didn’t push them like it did last season, and the team didn’t grow as much. Next year’s will be significantly tougher, and we’ll see if it leads to longer strides and more creativity.

Well, at least I don’t have to watch any more college football this year. Frees up an entire month.
Yep, time to hit the slopes more often in the best ski weather of the season coming up. No interest in how the rest shakes out.

I honestly had reservations about this team making a run again after all the flaws exposed against IU. Thought we would win this one, but we didn't come to play and Miami was the much better team. I just hate that the loss was to those thugs and their fans that barely give a shit about football. To be fair, this team really had visible flaws and would not have won the whole thing unless everything fell their way. Completely understandable with the amount of players we lost, a new QB that is talented but probably not quite ready, and an OL that played poorly against any defensive front that had a pulse.

I'll stop there and just pretend the season was over after we beat ttun. Hopefully we abandon whatever the hell the strategy was on offense this year, learn from it and get a lot of guys back.
