Ryan has always had superior talent so when talent is equal he’s not quite as sure as Cig because Cig has been there dozens of times already.

Look at the IU defensive line- they make up for their lack of overall talent with movement. It’s impressive.

Not really, Day doesn't have superior talent in the trenches. That needs to change.

Continuity and effort usually rises to the top given time. When you're the best every year, there is no time because everyone leaves. Next year is when Cig earns his money or is exposed.

This year they earned it with patience and perseverance.

One other observation, IU is heavy on the RPOs 1) very hard to defend, even if Mendoza likely isn’t keeping tonight 2) some IU linemen get 2-3 yards downfield but I dare refs to call illegal man downfield. Just seems to rarely happen.

That’s their best offense. Quit running 2 times in a row.
