2025 College Football Playoffs Discussion (12 Team Format)

No fan of the SEC, especially Texass and Bama, but if Texas gets left out, you can bet their AD is on the phone cancelling the game with the Buckeyes. I don't think Day would mind that either.

Texas is not making it, they aren't getting "left out" either framing it that way makes it seem like they were impressive enough to justify being in, they are a 3 loss team who lost to a 4-8 team and also needed OT to beat 2 5-7 teams. They have zero real argument especially with the amount of 2 and under loss teams this season.

Yeah, that loss to OSU is what sank them. Not the loss to a team that finished 4-8 overall and 2-6 in their conference. That was a good loss to an SEC team nobody wants to play.

Doesn't help that garbage like ESPNs FPI props the SEC trash up and helps ESPN argue way over inflated SEC SOS rankings.

Every SEC team is in the top 50

Including 2-10 Arkansas

Meanwhile 6-6 Northwestern is 60th and 7-5 Minnesota is 63rd

Haha. They did it. They jumped Bama over ND. Why do you think they did that?

Was it that Bama’s close win over 5-7 Auburn even while being significantly outgained?

Or was it Notre Dame’s complete domination of 4-8 Stanford?

Or was it to protect Alabama in case they lose the SEC championship and BYU wins the B12?

I will be cheering hard for BYU for many reasons. 1. ND not making the playoffs is its own reward. 2. That the committee fucked ND for Bama because SEC is hilarious. 3. Kalani Sitake seems like a cool dude and just told Penn State to shove it. 4. I think ND is a better team than Bama and I’d rather play Bama. 5. Fuck ND.

100% to protect Bamas playoff spot. There's no logical reason for jumping them over ND. I already see people making the excuse that "durr they are just correcting the course Bama shoulda never fell below ND to begin with"....except they did and now they make a complete BS move to see that Bama stays in.

I actually don't have a problem with Bama (or anyone that plays in a conf champ game) jumping ND.
Join a conference, ND.
If not, then these are the circumstances that you fall prey to.

Jump them if they WIN the CCG then don't jump them for no football reason after youve had them ahead for a couple of weeks already

Well, it's pretty much set. Here's who's in:
Ohio State (12-0)
Indiana (12-0)
Georgia (11-1)
Texas Tech (11-1)
Oregon (11-1)
Ole Miss (11-1)
Texas A&M (11-1)
Oklahoma (10-2)
Alabama (10-2)
2 from ACC/G5

One spot up for grabs.
BYU win and in
BYU lose Notre Dame is in

Pretty sure that's all the important games outside of the ACC/G5 games.

ND should not be ranked ahead of Miami this week, and that's the hill I'll die on. Completely ridiculous to award a higher ranking to ND based on eye test when Miami won head-to-head & they have the same record. Resume-wise, they have similar quality wins. It just doesn't make sense.

Miami actually just beat Pitt by more than ND did, and I think it was even admitted by Pitt they were focusing on their ACC games (and not ND) because they were trying to win the conference knowing it was their only shot at the playoff. Nothing ND has done is worthy of being ranked ahead of Miami.
