No this shit should be variable, realistically it should be 4 maybe 5 this year. We’re gonna end up with 4 more game like Aggy vs Da U and OU vs Bama. None of those 4 teams belong in the playoffs

You’re not wrong, but top tier college football is a professional sport now. So the only metric that matters for the playoff team selection process is maximizing television revenue. The playoffs are going to expand to at least 16. We’ll be lucky if it doesn’t expand beyond that. If you think it’s bad now, wait until private equity gets involved.

Oh 100% agree. Just saying what I would do. And once PE is involved the sport/college sports are done. It will be a slow march to extract all the value they can before leaving them bankrupt

College sports used to be my passion but the money has just ruined it. Makes me sad.

I seriously doubt that private equity isn’t already involved. Probably next year or 2027 all of this will be pay for view and we’ll still have to watch the commercials.
