2025-2026 Ohio State Men's Basketball

So with the Buckeyes winning at Rutgers for their second B1G road win of the season, let's compare to last season a bit: OSU did not get their second conference road win until January 21st, and finished the season with 4 B1G road wins. Nothing seems to come easy for these guys, but they just have to do a little bit better than last season overall to make the NCAA tournament. So if they can up that B1G road win total by a couple, that would be a real step forward. They have some winnable road games left - Oregon, Washington, Maryland and PSU, so they have a real chance if they can find a way to win most of those games and then maybe sneak one that nobody is expecting.

If you look at the schedule, January is a somewhat favorable month as there is only 1 more game this month you look at and say it's a loss for sure. There is a stretch of 8 games coming up here that the Buckeyes *should* be able to win the majority of. If they could manage to prevail in all but one of these matchups against unranked teams, they would be at 8-4 in the B1G moving into the tougher part of the schedule. I realize the results aren't what we hoped so far, but I feel like this team still has a very legitimate chance at making the tournament.

In our last three losses we have scored 2 points off the bench - total.

That is in a total of 101 bench minutes played. That equates to 5 players playing an entire half of basketball.

Our opponents have scored 52.

Anyone else see this as a problem?
And here I thought it was the lack of a fast start, rebounding, and falling behind by double digits.

But yeah, that’s not good.

I think they pretty much gotta go 5-0 against the worst of the B1G (in the NET rankings)

2X against Ped State
Minnesota
Oregon
Maryland

Minnesota is barely hanging on inside the top 100 and the rest are outside of the top 100

That is probably very key to them having a legit shot in the end.
