Coaching makes a big difference. Iowa and Corn aren't unloading the bank on hoops NIL either. We at least have equal talent to them

Saw McDermott is retiring from Creighton. Only 61 but I get the sense he doesn’t want to deal with today’s college landscape.
To think the Buckeyes almost had him to fill the vacancy in 2017. Hard to say how it would have gone for both sides. I’d say better than Holtman but still short of consistent Sweet 16’s we fans (rightly or wrongly) expect. But who knows.

Arizona State gets St. Mary’s long time coach Randy Bennett.
The WCC may as well be dead with Gonzaga leaving and St. Mary’s likely unable to replace a coach at his level.
