2024 tOSU Defense Discussion

Most people would scream that this was lies. I'm not one of them. Pressure is almost always there but we over run on occasion and the QB steps up clean. When we get into games where Knowles actually goes after the Offense and gets aggressive, these numbers go up and overall efficiency is going to go up as well even though we start playing better competition.

I've got to think that we've been vanilla by design with the adjustments mixing in a little french vanilla. That ought to be enough against the first four lambs to slaughter. and it has been. Why put anything on tape to get a sack against Akron? There's more behind it.
this....even when they've heated someone up like they did to chiles at the end of the 2nd half, it was a very basic blitz package.

Iowa has a bad offense, but a good running game, and this was a decent dress rehearsal for Michigan. Not sure how well their schemes match up, but they have a better RB and run game overall, better QB, and at least a comparable OL (but probably better).

It was great to see Styles flying around and Reese getting significant snaps. LBs still have lot of work to do, especially against balanced offenses putting them in conflict, but having 3 LBs play well and gain experience against a good running attack is big.

Just caught myself thinking that I need to be thankful for Knowles and the rest of the staff on this side of the ball.

The discussions since Knowles got here has gotten progressively more favorable each season... and now we're to the point that they are executing on levels we've not seen for a good long time. Like as in Haf-days.

What a great hire, taking nothing away from the rest of his coaches... I'm sure they contribute significantly to their success. But to have them operating like they are takes one heck of a leader.
