*2024 tCun Shenanigans, Arguments, Cobras, Feckless Marmots, Fake Pandas, Dirty Cheaters

Texas is going to curbstomp them and I have popcorn ready for it. They are botching this whole thing and I am here for it.

scUMs D might be able to keep it from being a total massacre but that offense is going to sputter early and often. I can't see scUM scoring more than 10-14 points tops in the best case scenario. Unless some special teams or defensive TD magic happens.

It'll be interesting to see how good the defense is. They have Johnson, Graham, and Grant as stars, the Maryland LB is good, but I'm not sure who else. DB depth isn't great from what I remember.

DL is probably still good but won't be as deep. LBs are just ok, DB after Johnson is not good (well the safeties are "ok"), and yea the depth there is terrible, their CB2 and CB3 will probably be a revolving door all season. Just throw to where Johnson is not and you'll probably have pretty good success.

If Fresno State were to win though, has a defending National Champion* ever lost their next seasons opener at home to a non power conference school? or anything close to that?

It would be funny because I believe the last defending Champion (1/2 in this case) to lose their season opener the next year in a normal season (LSU lost to Miss State to start the 2020 season but not counting the COVID mess year) was indeed Michigan losing to Notre Dame to open the 1998 season.
Cincinnati beat defending Champion Ped State in Slappy Valley. I think that was the same year?
