Edwards is back… very surprised by this with what they have returning.

Let’s see what he does when Jim goes to the league though. I suspect the spring portal entries might be pretty steep up there.

Michigan RB Donovan Edwards, LB Josaiah Stewart coming back

National champion Michigan received a boost on both sides of the ball Monday as running back Donovan Edwards and edge rusher Josaiah Stewart announced their intentions to return for the 2024 season.

And the ones that’s are… will they want to go there without Harbaugh and with the uncertainty?

That and if they’re quality you bet they’re going to have to fight off multiple programs for them too.

Regardless they won’t be anything close to what they have been up front, don’t have a QB and have a 5 foot 8 WR as their primary guy.

Can’t wait until next November

It's hilarious how much faith a good amount of DFBIA seem to have in Orji. Guy is big and fast but that's about it he can't hit the broad side of a barn throwing the ball and lacks even average overall QB intangibles.

Yeah totally agreed… go ahead and run the triple option. Orji though will never be what that other POS QB was.

What these guys did so well the last 3 years…. Is they avoided the turnovers. They avoided the missed play.

They won’t do that anymore without JJ. That’s why I’m in the minority that JJ might do Ok in the NFL. Because I’ll give him this… he never hurt himself or the team

They keep saying how "stacked with depth!" the oline is. But it was only stacked with depth in 2023 because of all the super seniors and transfers they brought in for 2023. Nearly all of them are gone now (the transfer from Stanford Hinton is still there but thats about it)

Orji was not really recruited at all by the bigger players as a QB, that should sound the alarm for someone with his size and athleticism. Guy was not accurate at all in HS, seriously doubt that's going to change majorly in college. As a runner he pretty much would live and die by the scramble drill type plays, he's not particularly great at the read part of the read option even if that's the route they did go with him.

Yeah, but on the plus side, (check it out) his pass completion percentage at scUM is 100%..........

Isn't he more Joe Milton? Though Not sure if he has that level of cannon cause I never saw him throw

Milton doesn't have quite the athleticism as Orji, but the problem is here that athleticism can only carry you so far in major college football, you have to be able to correctly utilize it on the field, which I don't think Orji will do near well enough to be able to be a major P5 starting QB. But by all means scUM please start him, it's what the people want!

IMO Milton had a higher ceiling as a passer too. Which is not saying good things for Orji.

Pretty much. If Harbaugh returns watching him trying to run a shoelace offense with Orji would be pretty fucking hilarious, they'd almost have to because there's no way Orji is executing the Harbaugh protect the ball at all costs ground and pound and hit them with play action offense anywhere near efficient enough.

That is Scary cause Milton while he could throw it a mile. Couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with it until what his 6th year?

And that was in a Tennessee offense that thrives on quick easy throws for the QB. Not a long developing passing offense like Michigan runs. I'm all for them starting Orji because of the disaster it would be, but if Harbaugh sticks around I doubt it happens. Harbaugh's offense thrives on ball control and not making stupid mistakes, Orji is not the guy to execute that as the QB.

Not just their Oline but their only 2 WRs who did anything are gone too.

Wilson and Johnson caught 48 and 47 passes, their next best WR was Semaj Morgan, a gadget play slot dot with 22 catches.

So whoever is the next QB not only has a completely brand new OL but also no one anywhere near proven to be any kind of threat at WR. They still have the TE Loveland, but it's easier for defenses to key on him more when you have absolutely nobody threatening at WR.

Once again there is absolutely no excuse for not beating them in Columbus next year, i'd argue if we lose that game every coach whos coaching that day should be given their walking papers on the spot.
