2024 Ohio High School Playoffs

Some updates from last night...after the weekend settles I'll try to highlight some of the bigger games coming next weekend.

D1
Hilliard Bradley get their third win of the season and upset Springfield in a 13/4 upset
Dublin Coffman joined them in the three win club and got a 14/3 upset in the same region

D2
Got a biggie, 15/2 upset with Worthington Kilbourne winning 29-26 over Walnut Ridge

D3
Lexington with a 12/5 over Maumee, 28-14
Another 12/5 with Chaminadde Julienne however you spell it over Tavien St. Clair and Bellefontaine, ending his high school career

D4
Napoleon with not just a 13/4 upset over Clearview but a 49-0 win, wowza
Cinderella section with Millersburg West Holmes and East Liverpool both winning, setting up a 13/12 matchup next weekend
Brookville over Cincinnati Christian Hills Academy for a 13/4 in OT by going for 2 and getting it

I'll have updates on the rest later today

Martins Ferry beats Crestview and it's only an 11/6 but really only important because Autumn Begins in Martins Ferry is a poem I'll always remember simply because it mentions football immediately and shows Ohio HS football slapped even in 1959.
Another Cinderella special - Wheelersburg with a 14/3 over Barnesville and Belmont Union Local with an 11/6 so you'll have a 14/11 next weekend

D6
The dreaded 12/5 matchup gets Hanoverton as Mogadore advances
12/5 curse also hits Defiance Tinora as Carey advances

D7
More 12/5 action with McComb over Edon. Panthers are always scary come playoff time.
*Major Upset Alert* We got another 15/2 with Delphos St John winning 28-22 over Upper Scioto Valley...the Rams had been 9-1 with only a one point loss in week 1 until now

There was a good amount of 11/6 but too many to keep listing

The MAC conference is hands down probably one of the best, if not the best, small school conferences in the country, let alone the state. Delphos St John’s would probably be 8-2/9-1 in just about any other conference. So, the 15/2 upset wasn’t an upset if you have ever watched the MAC. If I’m not mistaken, Delphos once owned the largest winning streak, and I believe before that, it might’ve been Versailles. All from the same conference. Very fun to watch these guys get after it. Big community support as some of the 50/50 drawings bring in close to 20k. I’m in South Carolina now, but my dad still works for a school district in the MAC and keeps me up to date.
