2024 NCAA tournament & bracket discussion

UCONN is going to work the hell out of Northwestern in the paint. But, I would love for them to actually catch fire and win the whole damn thing as one of the only teams from the conference that I'm rooting for.

I haven't watched a lot of cbb outside of tOSU this season, but watching the tourney, I see the "dumbing down" of basketball is alive and well. Fundamentals are a forgotten science. Just a lot of dribbling, passing around the perimeter, and chucking threes...even when points are there for the taking in the post. Hard to watch and the reason I abandoned the NBA years ago.

This has been in progress for awhile now. I remember when I was coaching AAU and running the scorers table in the 10-14 age bracket. Watching kids palm/carry the ball, take 4 steps, and butcher other fundamental aspects of the games while the referees called nothing. I watched this one kid palm the ball every time he brought it up the court. I asked the referee about it at half and he said that’s the way the pros and college players do it, so why would I call it. I said because in this age bracket they need to learn fundamentals of the game.
