2024-2025 College Basketball General Discussion

A number of calls went Purdue’s way in the first half. The refs just decided to save the make-up calls until the worst possible time.

I’d love to have the Ohio equivalent of Painter. (Hoping we do.). Recruits and keeps in-state kids. His teams play hard intelligent basketball. Always competitive.

I want to point out something that OSU has seemed to ignore for several seasons. Look at Auburn's frontcourt. Broome is 6'11" 240#. Cardwell is 6'10" 255#. This is a big-boy frontcourt. YOU CANNOT TROT OUT 220# PLAYERS IN THE POST EVERY YEAR AND CLAIM YOU'RE A BIG-TIME COLLEGE BASKETBALL PROGRAM. You see why Vlad Goldin struggled against Auburn? He couldn't bully his way against Cardwell, he tried to bump him backwards to get to his spots, and Cardwell wouldn't budge. Goldin shot 60% from the field this season, but was only 2-9 against Auburn yesterday, because they had heavyweights who wouldn't back down & let him get what he wanted. This is why you can't have lightweights in the post.

Well it looks like Texas Tech is going to knock off Florida and get back to the Final Four. The Gators would be the first #1 seed to fall this tournament. Helluva performance for TTU in this tournament regardless of how it ends up, but you can see their toughness, strength and speed is impressive. Hard to believe this will be the second Texas Tech Final Four in the last 6 tournaments. Meanwhile, at OSU ... chirp chirp chirp
