Explain the infraction to me as if I was a child.
You can't send scouts to future opponents games and record the hand motions or call alignment of opposing teams? Or its fine to steal the signs, you can't radio into your players what they might be?

How would you even catch this?
In person scouting has been prohibited by the NCAA since 1994 as a cost savings measure. Teams exchange game film instead. And presumably to catch it, you would do something like signal your actual play out of the same formation, but call a different play a couple of times (or even signal the play i.e. a 2 TE set run play and them come out 5 wide) and if the defense were oddly misaligned that would be a pretty good indicator that something might be going on.

Even better. It won't happen though.

But what MIGHT happen is any games they cop to or that the NCAA can prove they did whatever it is they did, they might have to vacate those wins, meaning they'll be further away from 1000. That might be more damaging to your average typical WalMart Wolverine fan
Yeah, ask the cultists at Perv State how that vacated wins thing works out...

“The NCAA is just out to get Harbaugh!” Seems to be the pivot from DFBIA right now.

Well when you lie and try to stonewall investigations that tends to lead to deeper digging which usually isn’t a good thing for you (scUM) in these types of situations
They are literally cheating to win games. How is this one defensible? They should just put their heads down and shut up.

They're still JoePed apologists. And they get laughed at for it.

Given the nationwide sore spot for sign stealing (Thanks Asstros and Red Sox), this won't go well for scUM from a PR standpoint.
Don't get me wrong, I hope you're right. I just don't have faith in the NCAA anymore. Perv State should have gotten the death penalty for what occurred there.

I mean seriously, if covering up child molestation isn't worthy of the death penalty what on God's green earth is....?

Sorry, didn't mean to get us off track. Screw the Skunkbears!!!

This is a quote from a scUM fan on another board I frequent.

Taking the “sign stealing isn’t illegal so who cares!” Approach

Sign stealing is legal. Whether you stole those signs having a person scout a team in person or stole those signs via the plethora of recorded video teams are given is semantics at best.

Unfortunately for them it’s much more of a deal to the NCAA and B1G

Well when the NCAA and Big 10 have to open up an investigation and put out a warning, there is something that Scum is doing/has done which is considered a significant competitive advantage. If it was no big deal, the NCAA and Big 10 would not have taken such a drastic measure.

There seems to be some allowable levels to what programs can do, and Scum didn't do that.

So Scum fans should be concerned.
