nah….this sucks.

Harbaugh was our Dan Mullen. Our Brady Hoke. Our shitty rival coach just good enough to not get fired. He was perfect.

And he’s gone.

It means they have a chance to do better which sucks. Jim caught lightning in a bottle this year and it bought him a lot of time. Now he’s gonna bail and we likely see Matt Rhule or Luke Fickell take the job. I’d rather have Jimbo. I’m sad to see this era end…..he was sooo good to OSU. Thanks for the memories Jim.

A) I don't ever think Fickell takes the job. B) I wouldn't be worried if he did. Until he shows that he can put his Tressel-ball background behind him and hire dynamic offensive coordinators that are necessary to win national championships in today's college football landscape, I'm very wary that he could win at the highest levels. The juggalos had several Tressel-ball type wins this year. Against AAC competition, he could pull them out. Against top SEC/B1G competition, he gets torched. I don't want him at Ohio State until he shows change.

Kind of difficult to play Meyer/Day ball in a feeder school - a school that sends it's HC off to the Bigs.

In his defense, he showed more than Tressel ball in the Indiana and Notre Dame games. In the ND game he reverted to Tressel after he built a lead.

He's much more of a family man than Urbs. I may be wrong, but I think he's found a home at UC, makes a shit ton of money compared to most of us, and he's close to his kids. Not a bad life.

Agreed. You can't win consistently against even-to-better talent by playing not to lose as soon as you get a 10 point lead (if you ever do).

Also agree with those who don't think Fick is going anywhere but OSU or ND.

I mean hell, he already turned down the better opportunity in that state. Why would he take the job now with the lesser of the two programs?

If Jimmy could send email I bet there would be a similar document from 2020.

I don't give him that much credit. I think the AD peaked his head into Jimmah's office and Jimmah' laughed when he asked if they should play the game. Maybe he was doing that thing where he's pretending to swing a golf club, even though there's no golf club in his hand. The AD took it from there.
