"McCarthy is TOO INEXPERIENCED!" that's why they have to often revert back to Harbaugh's favorite single wing offense. so much for the savior bringing in a explosive new system.

Also the old "WE PURPOSEFULLY HAVE OUR PLAYERS NOT DO THINGS THEY ARE SUPPOSEDLY GOOD AT THAT COULD HELP US WIN!"

Yall are on drugs.

JJ was told not to run except when M was behind. It's pretty clear, JJ didnt suddenly forget how to run the zone read or RPO.

That's exactly why our offense looked exactly like last years. Cade COULDN'T run the zone read, so we ran a zone read offense without the read part. Well that's exactly what we did against MD.

It's really not some big secret mystery.

There were at least a few plays I saw that seemed pretty clear they were meant to be reads by McCarthy, but he made the wrong read. McCarthy definitely appeared hesitant to take off. Maybe he operates differently when he's playing a defense that's not running around (slowly) with their heads cut off. Big shock it's harder to run a Zone Read when you aren't playing 3 of the worst teams in FBS.

Just cause you're athletic doesn't mean you are good at the zone read. Pryor might have been the most athletic QB we ever had if not it's probably Braxton. Both were far worse at the zone read them JT who didn't have near their athletic gifts

Yep. Brax and TP could get you 80 yards at any given moment. Ironically enough, JT has his own 80 yard carry on his resume. But, if the Bucks need 3 yards or less, give me JT Barrett.

Some of Braxton's all time great runs were a result of him making the wrong read and just using his gifts to make it work anyways.

Pryor was far better on a a scramble then any designed run for his whole career

Dude should just run pay clinics teaching people how to RPO. Straight magician reading the situation.

I agree with all you nerds. JT was a good quarterback, but his strength was that zone read. I never really appreciated that as a skill, or that some people might not be as good at it, until I saw McSorely try to run it at Penn State. I still say that he lost the game against Ohio State in 2017 by continually making wrong reads. Part of it was Ohio State's defense beating Penn State's read option, but I also think that the correct reads would have scored the touchdown for Penn State late that should have put Penn State up 15 with about 6 minutes to go.

College football Bottom 10: A Rocky Mountain low in Colorado

https://www.espn.com/college-footba...ootball-bottom-10-rocky-mountain-low-colorado

1. Colora-duh State (0-4)
The Rams extended their FBS-worst losing streak to 10 games after a 41-10 loss at home to Sacramento State. For the FCS Hornets of the Big Sky Conference, it marked just their second win over an FBS program in 25 tries, though sources tell the Bottom 10 JortsCenter news desk that a petition has been filed to have that "win over an FBS program" distinction removed because, hey, does Colorado State really qualify?

3. Huh-Why?-Yuh (1-4)
The Warriors lost Pillow Fight of the Week: Episode I at New Mexico State 45-26. No offense to San Diego State and Nevada, but our eyes are already on Hawai'i's Oct. 22 trip to Colorado State. We tried to get a hotel room in Fort Collins for that weekend, but it's all booked up. We're assuming that's College GameDay planning ahead.

6. U-Can't (1-4)

A week after surrendering five touchdown runs to Michigan's Blake Corum, the Huskies olé'd four TD passes by NC State's Devin Leary. Records obtained by the Bottom 10's investigative unit have revealed that former UConn coach Randy Edsall reached out to current UConn boss Jim Mora Jr. via email under the subject line "Congrats!" A confused Mora responded with "For what?" Edsall then apologized, explaining that he had assumed Mora's contract with the university was like his and included a "helped opponent's star's NFL draft status" clause calling for a $10,000 bonus.

Maybe, but CJ's offense isn't often at 3rd & 20+ very often. I'm taking Pryor on 3rd & 20+

So far this year, CJ's passer rating on 3rd and 10+ is 316.32. That's > 50 points higher than the nearest QB not named Stroud.

Stroud is 19th in PE on 1st Down, 17th in PE on 2nd Down, but #1 in PE for all 3rd downs (PE of 276.6, > 20 points higher than anyone else)

As for the topic of this thread: Screw Blue
