2022 Season: Are You Ready For Some Football?

That second video really ticks me off.

Just look at all of those different celebrations! How long does it take to practice those things?

Maybe if they spent more time practicing the plays that make the touchdowns instead of the celebrations that come after, then maybe they might score more touchdowns!!

oh...

wait...

1. Get the running backs healthy

2. Figure out what to do with JSN

Jaxon Smith-Njigba has had a really bad run of poor luck this year. From getting injured in the first half against Notre Dame, trying to make his return against Toledo and re-injuring himself, and then two weeks ago against Iowa injuring himself again, he has struggled to stay fully healthy.

However, I feel like testing him in each of these games is only making it worse for him. Playing when not fully healthy is just delaying when he will be fully healthy. Additionally, this could risk injuring other muscles in his left leg, which is the leg he injured his hamstring, or hurt something in his right leg by overcompensating. It’s just simply not smart to test it.

Being this far along in the season, I feel like he has to be shut down for at least the next three games. There is no point in playing him until TTUN, because he shouldn’t be needed. This would give him a full month to work on recovery, since he didn’t play against Penn State. I know all of Buckeye Nation, myself included, feels awful for him and we all simply want what is best for him.

3. Continue producing turnovers on defense

4. Finish undefeated and beat TTUN (duh)

lack of discipline!

PENALTIES CONTINUED TO HAUNT OHIO STATE IN ITS LOSS TO MICHIGAN

Ohio State's early-season penalty problem resurfaced in the loss to Michigan last Saturday (and the week prior against Maryland).

The Buckeyes have enough star-studded talent to take down the majority of FBS teams even when they are outcoached, outplayed and outdisciplined. The problem is when Ohio State continues to do those types of things and has self-inflicted penalties against one of the best teams in college football, which the Buckeyes found out last Saturday in their 45-23 loss to Michigan.

In the end, Ohio State's penalty problem that resulted in a bunch of yellow flags being thrown on the field throughout the game resulted in Michigan planting its own flag in the middle of the Block O at the 50-yard line of Ohio Stadium Saturday afternoon, which Ryan Day's team will likely never forget. It was the second year in a row the Buckeyes had a penalty problem in The Game. Ohio State had 10 penalties for 66 yards in its loss at Michigan last season.

“We had too many penalties, and it got us off-schedule,” Day said after Saturday’s loss.

Ohio State had nine penalties for 91 yards in its regular-season finale. Comparatively, Michigan had just five penalties for 31 yards. Let's take a look at each of the Buckeyes' nine penalties throughout the game:

This was definitely the season of "WHAT IFs":

Examining the 'What ifs' of Ohio State 2022 season

WHAT IF JAXON SMITH-NJIGBA HAD BEEN AVAILABLE
WHAT IF THE RUNNING BACKS WHO WERE EXPECTED TO PLAY DID PLAY
WHAT IF MICHAEL HALL JR. HAD A BIGGER ROLE
WHAT IF OHIO STATE'S CORNERBACKS HAD STAYED HEALTHY
WHAT IF THE OFF WEEK HADN'T COME DIRECTLY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE YEAR
WHAT IF OHIO STATE FINDS A WAY TO BEAT MICHIGAN
WHAT IF OHIO STATE GETS THE TARGETING CALL
