2022/23 Bowl Game Discussion Thread

Probably the worst coached game I've seen as a Michigan fan, and that's saying something. Still had a chance to win in the 4th. I dunno what to say; gonna be a long time before I get over this one. Everything that could go wrong, did go wrong, but it's impossible not to say we lost this game on coaching. I don't think TCU is any good, and I'm now concerned that Jim Harbaugh is strictly incapable of winning a college football playoff game.

I just can't get over the fact that every single thing we were warned about that TCU might do, they did, and we looked absolutely baffled. I'm talking YouTubers, and fan articles, and football media analysis all said exactly what TCU would do, but somehow we had no clue half the time. How the hell do you just keep slamming into their run fits and wait until deep in the 3rd quarter to try any misdirections and QB reads? Sonny Dykes just took us to the cleaners and I can't in any way shape or form pretend we deserved to win this.

And all that is setting aside the fact that our coach decided to bet the entire tone of the game on a 4th and 2, on our very first drive, to run... the Philly Special? That's so much small dog energy it bends my mind. The refs sucked, but they sucked all game and hurt TCU too. The footing sucked, but it sucked all game and it hurt TCU. We both had key injuries. Both our QBs played sloppy. At the end of the day the difference is TCU called plays that got all their best players in position to make their signature plays, and we literally told ourselves a story about how going full Wisconsin would beat the puny 3-3-5. Not running counters, traps, or arc read plays until the 2nd half of the 3rd quarter is literally freaking criminal negligence.

I dunno what else to say. We're not going to get a better coach than Harbaugh, and he's good enough to keep us in the rivalry and in the Big 10, but I don't see how this guy EVER wins a playoff. I'm not a genius, but I woulda called a better game than that. Maybe we lose anyway because JJ was just too sloppy with the ball, but losing because we told ourselves a story about what TCU was? Forget about it man. That was trash.

Honestly, if that play happens on 2nd down in the 3rd quarter, it's targeting. No way did they want to flip the game with that call on that play.

I have no complaints about that, either.
I think that was it. By the letter of the rule that was targeting. Scum got ducked pretty hard by the refs. Especially the TD off the board. That was fucked up as he was juggling it into the end zone.

2 pick 6's and 2 3 play 78 yard drives, that's tough to overcome
