2022/23 Bowl Game Discussion Thread

Watching Wake carve up Mizzou like a thanksgiving Turkey. Just saying…
Some of the worst time management I've ever seen. Game should have been over when they got the ball on their 25 with 4:30 on the clock, they get four first downs, a fifteen yard penalty, and they are snapping the ball with 10 to 15 seconds left on the play clock. They score with 1:30 to go and Mizzou still has two time outs. If Mizzou had any kind of defense, or just got lucky, they could have stopped the Deacons and gotten the ball back down just 3 points and with more than two minutes and three time outs.

The targeting call on Bacon #3 from Bowling Green is exactly why the targeting rule needs a long going over.

NMSU QB is breaking down like he's about to put a move on the DB, then starts to give himself up at the last possible second. The refs first mindset is to throw laundry THEN review it.
Turns out, they didn't (rightly) charge the DB with targeting, but he still got a late hit. Which is, again, complete bullshit. Defender is in the act of tackling, offensive player gives himself up too late to prevent additional contact. Needs to be an "oh well", and move the fuck on. When this starts being applied appropriately, QB's will stop playing with fire for the sake of drawing a cheap call.
