Duh U trying to knock off Dook at Cameron, one-point game with less than 3 minutes to play. Dookie V calling for fouls that didn't happen.

Mike Brey set to step down at year end. Pretty decent career in South Bend. Usually a PITA to play but ND hasn’t been much lately.

Notre Dame basketball coaching candidates: Chris Holtmann headlines CBS Sports' potential Mike Brey successors

MARTIN INGLESBY, DELAWARE

DUSTY MAY, FAU

GREG MCDERMOTT, CREIGHTON

CHRIS QUINN, MIAMI HEAT ASSISTANT

MICAH SHREWSBERRY, PENN STATE COACH

CHRIS HOLTMANN, OHIO STATE COACH

CBS Sports’ Take: “If Notre Dame is going to target a big name from the high-major ranks in the realm of realistic, Holtmann would have to be at or near the very top of the wish list. He was 70-31 in three seasons at Butler and is 117-64 in five-plus seasons at Ohio State with 20-plus wins in each of his campaigns. His compensation is reportedly about 30th in the country, which is a pretty nice discount for the Buckeyes with a coach whose credentials suggest he's closer to a top-15 coach in America.”

247Sports’ Take: Ohio State has hit a rough patch this year, and fans around Columbus appear to be starting to lose patience in Holtmann. But this is not the type of coach the Buckeyes would want to lose. He did inherit an incredibly stable program from former coach Thad Matta, and he has yet to rack up the same trophies as Matta, but coaches that would have made the NCAA Tournament for five-straight years were it not for the COVID-19 pandemic do not grow on trees. Holtmann is also an excellent recruiter that has signed top-10 classes in each of the past two cycles.
