The 1998 pair of Boston and Dee Miller stand as the most-prolific to-date as Boston went for 1,435 yards and Miller 915.

In 2018, Parris Campbell and K.J. Hill made a run at greatness with Campbell logging 1,063 yards and Hill 885.

Back to Boston and Miller, the duo posted 970 and 981 yards, respectively, in 1997, setting the stage for the even more impressive '98 campaign.

Just sayin': It's no longer "3 yards and a cloud of dust". Playing a possible 15 game season (12 regular season, 1 B1G CCG, and 2 CFPs) won't hurt their chances for 1000 yards either.

First week of the season the top OL vs top DL. Can't wait for that one once our game is through.

I think until we see Harrison/Vincent live up to their 5 star height I'd give the edge to Clemson for right now. If Harrison/Sawyer/JTT all do some things though then give me our group.

I think we have an argument for OL too if I'm being honest. Great thing is I think we are top 3 in all but maybe 2 of those (LB/Secondary).

IMO, Clemson and OSU have massive talent on the DL, but its unproven and can go either way. Clemson also has players that have been in college multiple years, and have yet to breakthrough.
And tbh, but I'd put OSU in top 3 in all positions in CFB except secondary. I think with Chambers' position switch and the transfer of PG(I'm not going to attempt to butcher that spelling), that LB is now a strength. Especially with OSU now using 2 true LBs now instead of 3. But the offense is in a transition phase, as far as leadership. but not in talent. But the beauty, is all of the top teams are in a similar position as well, and the team who can put it all together and they're young talent doesn't waver will win it all. But don't be surprised if any of the top teams(I'm only talking about OSU, Bama, Clemson, OU and UGA, no one else matters tbh) either lose or play in close games against teams they shouldn't. But I like the returning leadership that OSU has, especially at WR, TE, OT(I know this is the offense thread, but on defense we have leadership at DE, DT, CB and S)

No doubt possibly only playing 2 LBs helps and also yes I agree all the top schools are in the same boat as far as leadership at the QB position.

What we have that the others don't is the best WR room and two returning tackles. You add that with Jeremy Ruckert and our tailbacks? Hell of a way to break in a new QB.

With NIL being passed I almost think JF should've returned. He would've made millions off that and then the possibility to play a full season throwing to 2/5/11/4/18 and 12? Would've been #1 overall without any hesitation.

OU should be really good as a side note. Got some new transfers on the OL, returning QB and their defense should be good with returning starters there too.

OK, pump the brakes there! Fields just signed a $18.8mil deal with $11mil guaranteed. No way in hell would he have made $11mil in tear 1 of the NIL, no football player will this year! #1 pick is nice, but going to a crappy team would not have been. Fields did the right thing, and OSU had to move in. It's always difficult to get over a successful player and move on to an unknown, but it had to be done. We had to know what we have in Stroud, Miller and McCord, and as talented as Fields is, there was nothing more for him to prove in college. His game would've been picked apart even more and it wasn't set that he would've gone #1 either. Scouts love to pick apart players with more film they see(i.e. Cardale going from a top 5 pick to the 4th round, and there's even more examples here: https://bleacherreport.com/articles...ootball-players-who-stayed-in-school-too-long).

Ok and I understand that... my point? He makes 5mil at OSU now and then signs for 25m guaranteed as the #1 pick. He made the correct decision with what he knew... but I guarantee you if he stays he makes more.

Now you don't know what happens. For all we know he blows his knee out bad game 1 vs Minnesota had he stayed and never plays again. So again he had to go but if he was guaranteed to stay healthy (along with knowing he wasnt top 10 in 2021) he could've stayed.

Leaving also means his rookie contract is up 1 year sooner, so any extra money he may have made in his first 4 NFL years by staying is offset by having the next contract come up 1 year faster.

Oh for sure...then I'd add 1 more year of Ryan Day? Yes please.

I'm not saying he made the wrong Choice.. what I'm saying is had he known NIL was a thing maybe he stays had he known he wasn't even a top 10 pick.

We all assumed he was #2 coming out... then he drops to the bears. IMO he will prove to be the #1 pick in hindsight.
