Apparently kind of mutual but the timing suggests this is mainly Turgeon is walking away. MD wasn't too thrilled about his performance, and Turgeon was fed up with being expected to do better. He wasn't doing a particularly great job, so he might have gotten the axe in another year or two from now anyways. But nobody abandons their college basketball job in early December when they aren't retiring, so this is very strange. Perhaps there is something else we don't know yet, but Turgeon always has been a hot head so maybe it was just him deciding the situation had become untenable.
