You kids stay off my lawn!
Imagine your program being so stagnant over a two-decade period that you’ve resorted to playing the “what-if game” so frequently.
And honestly all it did was irritate me; t forced me to play what if and I thought of Hamby.
Goddamnit
MGMT, I note that you only mention the play and don't attach blame or fault. I thank you for that.
Ryan was a student of mine in his high school days. He was obviously athletically talented and possessed a strong competitive fire. I would have loved to have had him on my track team as a 400, disc, long/high jumper because of that fire. I looked forward to seeing him play for the Bucks, especially after the years of watching the school's best athletes head off to Ann Arbor and South Bend. I shuttered with each offside and felt his pain when that pass bobbled around and then hit the ground.
What followed - the boos, the name-calling, the death threats - is the downside of college athletics, in fact, high school and grade school athletics. I've heard too many "adults" scream at kids, sometimes their own kid(s) mercilessly and it makes me wonder if they're trying to relive their own lives through the kids on the field.
Boo at the pros, the coaches, or the refs if you must. They're adults and they're being paid not to make mistakes. But Ryan was barely 21 when he dropped that pass, he was still learning. What followed has no business in amateur sports.
