Took the plums 4 posts to mention "bagman." They be slippin'.

This thread is even better. Half of the posts are some variation of they can't compete because Bama, Clemson, and tOSU cheat or they don't care about football as much.

It’s taken a historic run of bad luck for OSU to do what they have done us. Go back and look at the games. Don’t focus on the last two. Look since 2001 and you’ll see that is been bad coaching more then a talent gap. The one position they have destroyed us in is QB. We are not developing the talent that we get. There might be disagreements this but I believe

2003 and 2011 out right wins

2001, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2012, 2016 and 2017 toss ups

2006, 2013 toss ups so spilt this to 1-1

2007 injuries but that team was unleashed in the bowl game. They would have beat anyone that day. Even with the rare Mike Hart fumbles.

2008, 2009, 2010, 2014, 2015, 2018, 2019 bad loses and bad coaching and game plans on defense.

record should be 10 - 9. You could argue but this has been an amazing run of bad luck.

if this were true there would be 4 more BIG titles 2 playoff appearances and possible 1 national championship appearance.

The harsh truth

A big problem for Michigan is guys like John Bacon writing ridiculous books and Sam Webb tweeting out things like he is in the staff. The university and fan base is horribly arrogant and hypocrites. People on the outside see MSU as the university who accepts the disadvantaged kid to help him become advantaged while Michigan talks but doesn’t want that kid in their world. Michigan also cheats as much as everyone else but it’s naive fanbase has ZERO clue about the real world.

Nov 26, 2016 Big Ten Killed U of M Football
https://247sports.com/college/michi...16-big-ten-killed-u-of-m-football--156173320/

They allowed fans of OSU to officiate that game, which led to the worst officiated game I’ve ever seen. The Michigan football program hasn’t recovered from it, losing critical recruits to OSU, Alabama, Georgia, and ND. JH had the program riding high but needed that win to propel them past OSU, get national attention by playing in the B1G Championship game, and then in the College playoffs. Instead, everyone had to listen to JH ****** and all Michigan fans how they got totally shafted, which created a major losing attitude, driving away critical recruits to OSU and other schools. JH changed immensely after that game and the program has been on a decline ever since. I guess this is what the Big Ten wanted? They killed the greatest rivalry in all of sports. Here we are a week away from the game that should be played but Michigan fans are hoping it’s canceled because if it’s played Michigan would lose by at least 40 points to OSU, unbelievable. Bo and Woody have to be rolling in their graves.

Still going strong with the "Michigan wont admit these 5 star recruits because of academics"

The same school that admitted Rashan Gary...... and of course thats totally the reason they arent hitting a bunch of 5 star prospects

JFC miss me with this sanctimonious horse shit. Rashan Gary was down to JH Michigan and Hugh fuckin’ Freeze’s Ole Miss...which was proven to be involved in impermissible benefits (NTTAWWT).

You mean to tell me with a straight face that someone who scored his laughable score on the wonderlic chose Michigan over Ole Miss due to academics and their purist love of amateurism? FOH

Correction: it's among the reasons why, not the only reason.

This guy is such a pud.
"it's not a rivalry game" ... OK buddy.
Tell me who else ya'll would entertain cancelling The Game against, let alone actually do it.
Only us. We're the only school you talked all season about dodging the game... and then did it for just 9 cases.

If they ever get good again, I like only having to go on the road to either them or Penn St in a given year.

Yea, even when they're not good a schmuck like Hoke can get them to play up for 1 game. A lot of those were very close despite a large talent gap.
DFBIA is really beyond parody. They’re starting a series highlighting their wins over Ohio State from 1897-1904.

https://mgoblog.com/content/five-victories-over-ohio-state-1897-1904

I genuinely don’t know wtf that last sentence even means, but regardless, the “slicing date” that creates parody between Michigan and other teams is pre-WWII.

Also, the internet says the first college football game wasn’t played by Michigan: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/1869_New_Jersey_vs._Rutgers_football_game.

But go ahead, hang your hat on your 120 year old domination of teams playing their first games, you dumb bastards. Whatever makes them feel good enough to extend Harbaugh.

It just means he desperately needs those games before forward pass and amateurism to count for something.
Hilarious they want to make a series highlighting the years of being a Semi-Pro team, and getting kicked out of the conference for it.

A lot of consternation over on _goboard that WR Giles Jackson has apparently been retweeting a bunch of transfer portal tweets. Is he any good? I can't recall him from the few games I watched.

Side note - they sure do love them some Ed Warriner over there. Can anyone explain why? It seems to me their OL play has ranged from "okay" to "awful."

Optics of stealing a coach off us, regardless of truth.
A lot of us liked him also - at least as an OL coach. Peter Principle came into play as an OC imo.

Most transfers are kids who are (1) buried on the depth chart, or (2) grad students who for whatever reason want to finish their careers in a new environment. It's really rare for a young starter to transfer. Unless there are some personal/family issues with Carpenter and he wants to be closer to home, this transfer is a really bad look, and bad omen, for scUM.

Reminiscent of the 4* DL guy that played and was slotted to be a starter next season... (Solomon ?)
Being from Ohio, I doubt it's family. He probably transfers even farther away (I bet Schiano is already on the phone).

This was a response to someone saying that this (Carpenter) is without a doubt a "this program is toxic" transfer

It's weird trying to keep all their narratives straight. Deace going on and on about how the team quit weeks ago, and doesn't want to play us... but it's totally a legit pandemic outbreak.
Now we get a kid transferring and it's "he quit on the program [that already quit 3 weeks ago]".

Nine positives, and they cancel The Game. Straight up cowards. No other explanation.

And there it is.
I hate these cowards so bad.

They also made him an Academic AA.
I rewatched the Amazon show from a couple years ago... they really try to sell him as being smart, but it's obvious the tutor is doing his work for him.

Of course this is hilarious and stupid like all the other Michigan fan posts. But the part I absolutely love is that he thinks 2016 was the turning point.

You're right, bud. Everything was going well for you before that. See if you can get back to those glory years of the 2000s and early 2010s

I love the "expand the playoffs to 8" or whatever number to break up the Bama/Clemson/OSU monopoly.

It appears that they think the elite kids are saying "I'd like to come to tsun because of academics and in person classes but Alabama is going to be in the playoffs and I just can't risk missing out. If they'd expand the field and let you guys in I'd be there in a heart beat"

8 what? Big Ten teams? They barely ever crack the top two in their own conference division
