"No big deal" is the DFBIA opinion on the latest transfer, at their position of least depth. They are REALLY banking on the transfer portal here. Will be hilarious if they whiff.

Don Brown is playing a 3 - 3 - 5, he will rotate Hinton, Kemp, Mazi, and Jeter if he doesn't leave, with Hutchinson and Paye at the ends. That's the defense going forward. Maybe they both see the field on goal line and short yardage but his base only needs 1 tackle.

Sounds like a defense destined to get pounded into the ground by any team with a capable oline.

They lost another one?

I think a couple weeks ago, I set the over/under for transfers up there at 8. Gotta be getting close.

The 3-3-5 is more palatable in the B1G than it was a decade ago when DickRod tried up there due to the expansion of the spread offense. But, many spreads are more of a "power spread" that will still mail you with a big OL and a between the tackles running attack. You still have to be able to field a capable DL it you want to compete with the big boys. I don't see how they do that unless they find some real gems in the portal.

They have recruited two true DT type kids in the last two recruiting cycles combined. Hinton and Mazi Smith. Both are top 100 caliber players.

You have to go back to their '17 recruiting class to find two more and one of them has already left.

So 4 years of recruiting classes, 3 DT's and a bunch of DE's that need to be able to play inside. You couldn't make that up if you tried to.

Wisconsin had 359 yards rushing
Ohio State had 264
That's a total of 623 rushing yards on 107 attempts

I'd say their DL is slightly overmatched by good running teams.

Playing Wisconsin, Ped State & Minnesota in a 3 out of 4 week stretch is going to be brutal for that thin Dline.
