I'll give the devil their due, they have a long history of being excellent tacklers

Just look at Ty Law wrap up Westbrook on this play

you just can't do it any better than that

Yeah, Law made a great tackle and Westbrook got ZERO yards after the catch. Unfortunately Law should have tackled him before the ball arrived; a 15 yard penalty for pass interference and Colorado gets one more play from the 49 yard line......

I had to watch the 0:43-0:45 bit of that 7 times to fully appreciate the perfection of that tackle. I must appreciate good tackling more than I thought, because I feel much ... uh ... better than before I watched

If your primary rival is averaging over 42 points per game against you for the past 7 years while you are leading the country in fewest missed tackles - you might want to revisit your scheme.

With the belief that division games will be loaded at the front of the schedule in order to make sure they get played, and not knowing exactly what the fall will hold, it’s time to make friends with the idea of Ohio State and Michigan playing – and it seems crazy to even type this in August – next month.

This year, the Saturday after Thanksgiving may just be a Saturday after Thanksgiving, and “Michigan Week” may be in the middle of September.

The question then becomes where in September should Ohio State and Michigan play?

Do you schedule them for week one in order to come as close as possible to guaranteeing they’ll play?

Would you rather have a tune-up game to start the season and then play The Game in week two?

Do you want two warmup games before you play The Game?

I’m guessing Michigan would like as many games as possible before playing Ohio State, but how many can they be given before The Game is at too much of a risk of being lost?

The sooner this game is played, the better for Ohio State as they have fewer question marks. But that doesn’t mean head coach Ryan Day would be fired up to start the season with the biggest game on the schedule.

Would he do it? Absolutely.
