I can't speak for others, but those memories are formative. They are the foundation of the reason I follow this thread. Those memories are the reason I look forward to The Game every year more than any other sporting event. Those memories allow me to savor every W all the more and never to take one for granted. Those memories stoke the fire that is the rivalry. At least for me. Those memories aren't wallowing in shame. They help to define purpose. At least as far as a sports rivalry goes.

Spot on. I grew up in Reynoldsburg during the 80s and 90s and the amount of ttun fans i encountered still makes me sick. But like you said its what helped define me as a Buckeye fan. There is never a reason to let up. Never a reason to hope "ttun makes the rivalry more competitive"...

It will take a lot of work, but I’m pretty sure we could create a montage of failure for every one of these players.

Peppers is too easy to resist.

I was born in 1970 and I count the Cooper years as the 'Dark Times'...the 96 game still chaps my ass...but I already hated those scUM sucking bastards before the Dark Times and my spirit will haunt those fuckers long after i'm dead. I just don't want to waste a perfectly good thread of hating skunkbears go to waste on recollecting on the Dark Times. i'm sure Germans don't sit around reflecting on getting their asses kicked in two world wars while counting the money Mercedes brings in.
