2020 Team Discussion Thread

Without a doubt, it’s way more fun to envision the Buckeyes building a one-time schedule and having a fling with another conference. But the reality is they’re married to the Big Ten, and that’s not going to change.

When the wife won't put out men have a fling with someone else.

Despite the postponement, Ohio State clarified that:
  • All of those student-athletes on scholarship will remain on scholarship.
  • COVID-19 testing by the Department of Athletics and quarantine/isolation protocols will continue for these student-athletes.
  • Access to team facilities and locker rooms, and sports performance, medical/training and nutrition areas will be available under the current health and safety protocols that are in place.
  • Tutoring, scheduling and additional services provided through the Student-Athlete Support Services Office are ongoing.
  • Comprehensive mental health services will continue for all student-athletes through the athletic department’s staff at its Sport Psychology and Wellness Services department

What could have been. Pissed, as I’m sure everyone is. I guess if I continue to focus on what could have been as opposed to what will be, it will be a pretty fucking miserable fall.

Anyone want to take a guess at projected starters for the next time our boys are on the field?

I’m going for beers with some of the guys I coach with. I’ll take my stab when I am back and sober. For now, I’m going to allow myself to wallow a bit... but then move on.

fuck.

And probably quite a few more players as well. Why would any kid with serious NFL aspirations play spring ball when he could either (a) sit out and wait for the draft or (b) transfer to a school that will actually be playing in the fall.

Absolutely. If there's a spring season, we're properly fucked. I'm not kidding when I say I would rather just have no season at that point and work towards a 2021 fall season.

Archie Campbell and Roy Clark....damn I'm old!
I got much older today. Im pretty salty.

It's just disappointing that the administrators of the B1G seemed to barely put up a fight to have a season.

You hear them say "Our priority is the health and safety of our student-athletes." OK. That's good. But I have a question: Do you know for certain that football players are safer by not playing football? If the answer is yes, then they made the right decision, but I dont think they have any idea.

If players have a season to play, their time is scheduled, they are motivated to remain healthy, they would be regularly tested, monitored by team doctors, etc.

Without football, I would assume that they will be, well, college students - partying and chasing tail.

Got a feeling this is about what is easiest for administrators in terms of PR and liability rather than what is best for student-athletes.
