2020-2021 College Basketball Discussion (Official Thread)

Also, I feel like we’re fast-approaching the fact that you need 7 days of negative Covid tests before arriving in Indy. That will seem to be a problem with tourney games in a week.

Do you start dropping guys from the team so they don’t count as “Tier 1” individuals? This thing sucks for everyone.
I think Virginia should miss the tournament entirely now. Discarding COVID-positive player(s) and keeping the rest of the team going is also weird. The odds UVA releases which player they are missing are low, a fact which may otherwise impact their seeding.

Maybe conference tournaments were a bad idea? Could have let the teams quarantine/practice on their own for 2 weeks before sending them to Indianapolis. Or is it just the ACC having a couple issues?

Yep. Conference tourneys made no sense given the rules and timelines in play regarding Covid. Fingers crossed nothing happens to the Buckeyes or any opponent that we play.

I think they should have mapped out more time between tournaments. Starting the season 2 weeks late didn't help them one iota but if they started on time they could have completed the regular season and started these conference tournaments well in advance of the NCAA tournament to give teams time in case this happened.

No reason for conference tournaments this year other than $$$, which is basically why they exist in the first place.
