2020-2021 College Basketball Discussion (Official Thread)

So ttun finishes 14-3 in conference vs. Illinois at 16-4. Illini win more games and beat the snot out of them by 23 at their place. But ttun gets to claim the regular season title???

Putting a giant asterisk on this one.
UM finished 11 games over .500 and Illinois was 12 games over .500, including the head-to-head win. UM also had a cake schedule with the bare minimum of games vs the other top-4 teams. It seems UM is being rewarded for missing three games. In my book, Illinois won the B1G.

Also this happened. On the topic of refs being the show.

The Phoenix chipped away at the lead a bit after Zach Jacobs was called for a technical foul for yelling “and one” after drawing a foul while scoring. Byington asked official Jamie Luckie if “yelling and-one is a technical?” Luckie responded loud enough for the entire arena to hear “It is today.”

UNC-Greensboro (1 seed) wins the SoCon over Mercer. Isaiah Miller is an athlete- reminds me of Ja Morant but an even worse college shooter.

Appy State is Hot Hot Hot! winning the Sun Belt as a #4 over #1 Georgia State.

UNCG is gonna give somebody fits next Friday or Saturday.
Man, I don’t know. Good record, obviously won a lot of games but it’s a one man show and that one man’s shooting clip is

FG/3P/FT
44/21/66

He’s extremely athletic and any given day could be havoc getting to the rim but the whole team shoots 30% from deep. Any higher seed should be able to gameplan them. But...it’s March so *shrug*

Looks like Big Ten tourney tickets are sold out for Saturday and Sunday (unless I go secondary market), but I managed to grab 3 random sets of tickets for the NCAA at Lucas Oil - 1 on Fri and 2 on Saturday. No clue who the games will be, but it's March and it's live sports for the first time in a year.

Fingers crossed on good matchups and/or the Bucks.

Top-seed Cleveland State is trying to wrap up the Horizon league tourney crown and the NCAA bid. They're taking on Oakland, who took TTUN to OT this season.

The Vikings are 244th in three-point shooting so I'm guessing they have an inside game.

Elon College playing for their first ever NCAA bid vs Drexel in the CAA final. They're called the Phoenix now but will always be the Fightin' Christians to me.
