Since 1978, Kent State had hit the requisite six wins to play in a bowl game just four times (2012, 2006, 2001, 1987), even as they went bowling just once in that span. The past six seasons, the football program has won a combined 16 games, with two-win seasons posted in both 2017 and Lewis’ first year in 2018.
