Dear BP family,
It's "that" time of year, again. The weather is warming (sort-of), the flowers are blooming, and the Spring game is right around the corner. Unlike in years past, I'd like to kick off our 2019 Drive with a personal, short note. While the past couple of years have been relatively positive for Clarity and me regarding BP, his health, our financials and Elise, 2019 started off with one health disaster after another (I broke my wrist in January; my spine, neck, pelvis and hips are all discombobulated thanks to my 42 pound 4 year-old; and I now have to have minor surgery on a tear duct) - culminating in a very scary hospital stay (and 6 weeks of missed work) for Clarity due to a primary diagnosis of Pyoderma Gangrenosum and a secondary diagnosis of MRSA. I'll let you Google those if you don't know what they are. They're awful.
Needless to say, the loss of work, the amount of unexpected medical bills between us, and the upcoming medical appointments has us in a very scary place financially. We don't yet know what caused his PG, but because it's an autoimmune issue, there are no simple tests to be run. Instead, he has to see many doctors from different fields to try to identify the culprit(s).
BP holds a very special place in our hearts, and I am making a direct plea because I have to exhaust all of our options. I promise to keep you all up to date on Clarity's health as we learn more, but for now there's nothing to report. The good news is that Elise is thriving in her second year of preschool and will be entering Pre-K in the Fall. I'm thinking I need to wrap her in bubble wrap to keep her safe. My, how time flies.
BP love to you all,
Jo/LongwoodBuck
P.S. We haven't yet put the structure in place for the 2019 Drive, but I assure you that I am keeping track of everyone who gives during this calendar year and you will be given your BP cash, banner and acknowledgement as soon as everything is in place.
