OMAHA, Neb. – Behind a combined one-hit performance by the Buckeye pitching staff, the No. 7 seed Ohio State baseball team rallied to defeat No. 2 seed Michigan, 2-1, in the opening round of the 2019 Big Ten Tournament at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, Neb. Sophomore catcher Dillon Dingler came up with the go-ahead RBI single in the eighth, while freshman right-handed pitcher Will Pfennig earned the win after throwing 1.2 scoreless innings of relief to improve to 2-3 on the year. Left-handed reliever Andrew Magno claimed his 11th save of the season with two scoreless innings of work. With the win over the Maize Blue (38-17), the Buckeyes (32-24) advance to the winner’s bracket and will face No. 6 seed Maryland (29-27) at 6 p.m. ET Thursday. The game will be televised on BTN and can be heard on the radio on AM 1460 ESPN.
