2018 Week 13 CFB Open Thread

So to get the Chaos theory going....

I think those of us that want the CFP to achieve maximum failure, we want Wazzu and Oklahoma to end up winning.

USC beating NoD would be good.

UGA and Bama need to hold serve.

UCF did their part and if they find a way to beat Memphis next week, that's 2 full years without a loss.

Ohio State doing their part tomorrow to join in on the fun would be great as well.

Next week we would need UGA to defeat Alabama and all of the other 1-loss teams to not lose in their respective conference championship games. By my count that would give us a 1 loss SEC, B1G, Pac-12, Big-12 and it doesn't much matter if Clemson is or isn't undefeated but if they had one loss after the CCG that would be awesome too and then we would have a one-loss NoD and an undefeated UCF on a 2 year winning streak. Let the games, lawsuits and all other sorts of fuckery begin.

I think 1-loss OU makes it easy... they get Alumnus status and go.
A 2-loss OU makes things interesting; and they're still in the discussion b/c they're one of those teams that get a freebie.

QB sneak in short yardage is golden, especially since you're allowed to push the QB.

Not having that play in your offense is stubbornness personified.

That would also give us a clear delineation between the Fox conferences (B1G, Big 12 and Pac-12) and the ESECSECSECPN networks plus the Group of 5 being shut out again despite not losing a game for 2 full years.

At some point, things will break free. Everyone ending with 1 loss would be best for this to occur and that has absolutely nothing to do with Ohio State making it or not.

You're overestimating how much the viewing audience - most of whom are not on boards like this one - are paying attention. No one outside of Orlando will care if UCF gets shut out again. ESPN/ABC televise B1G games, like Fox does, and they show Big 12 games (I'm watching one on ESPN right now). As much as I'd enjoy watching the system implode, I don't think it's as simple as you're making it appear here.

It's a longer game than just this year.

I really hope the Group of 5 bands together into some type of anti-trust lawsuit. That's probably the shortest way to it. The other path is for the conferences who are routinely getting shut out to make noises about forming their own coalition. Fox has the money to do just that as a TV network.
