2018 NFL Draft Talk Thread

Ditched Crabtree and King because they were "headaches".....then trade for Marty B.

I don't think I've been on board the Gruden Train for even one second.
I've haven't understood the fascination with Gruden in recent years. Once upon a time (i.e. two decades ago), he was a good, young, innovative coach. Then the rest of the league caught up, he got his team mired in salary cap purgatory and he was plum mediocre for his last 5-6 years. Now, after a decade away from coaching, where he became almost a parody of your average knuckle-dragging "footbah guy", he's supposed to swoop in and restore the glory to the Raiders? This looks like an epic failure waiting to happen.

“Football guys” are all the rage now, as if crappy or over-the-hill ones never existed (Holmgren). It will bounce back the other way when guys like Gruden faceplant

For some reason people like his personality and ESPN sells him as an offensive genius. That's it. His offenses in Tampa were bad.

Maybe 2 years ago this hire makes sense. 2016 proved they didn’t need a move like this. It’s so stupid. The problem with 2017 was the OC, not the HC.

Totally agree, I thought firing the HC was just plain stupid especially with the injury to Carr. They may do fine under Gruden for a year or two, but after that I would be surprised to see him be successful. I just don't see him being the next Dick Vermeil.
