2018 NCAA Basketball Tournament Discussion (Official Thread)

Not sure what you consider luck. Would you rather face the #1 seed, or the team that was 20 points better than them? :yow1:
think i'd be happy playing either one, which is what makes the south region so fortunate for kentucky. i mean, ask any team in the tournament right now who they'd like to change places with and i guarantee that universal answer is either kentucky or kansas state. heck, the whole south is preferable to anything else but perhaps the purdue side of the east region.

If Kentucky gets by Buffalo, they should make the F4. Jarred Vanderbilt is apparently too injured to play this week but could come back next week, and he would give them a huge lift.

But Virginia has a lot of key underclassmen this year that will come back - they will have a strong season next year as well.

texas not being a powerhouse or even consistently good in basketball is so absurd. you're the flagship university of texas, your educational reputation is outstanding, you're awash with money, austin is a great town that sells itself, and the state is ridiculously rich in talent. despite all of that, the longhorns haven't been to the sweet sixteen in a decade, have been past the first round only 3 times in the last decade, and have never won a national title or even played for one. that's pathetic.

The same could be said for Texas football, yet outside of that six year window with Radio and Colt, they've been mediocre for decades.

They're the richest AD in the country, yet they never finish in the AD Cup top ten.

Given that oil endowment, they should be the best public university in the country, yet they aren't in the top 10.

Given that they're the flagship of a state with three times the population of Ohio, they should have a higher average sat score than Ohio State, yet they have one 50 points lower.

No university in America underachieves more than the University of Texas.
