2018 FIFA World Cup (Official Thread)

I shouldn't give the idiot any time/energy, but of course seconds after the match ended and FOX cut to the studio, pea-brained Alexi Lalas goes with the trite American take that "Messi was outplayed and outcoached."

Didn't see that at all. Sure, Argentina's manager is awful, but why is there always some hot take to put down the loser? I saw a better, younger, faster French team with a great young player that opened up the game and had an amazing day. Messi created a ton of chances, got an assist by getting a shot on frame and one by putting a 30 yard ball right on a teammate's head. He was fine/great.

It's football, not some one-on-one outplayed thing to me. Better team won, talk about France being a favorite and their offensive firepower. Whatever. /mini-rant

I don’t think there is anyone on earth that has an international cap that knows less about soccer than Lalas. I mean, I’ll take the LB from 2004 Madagascar to do my commentary before him.

He's clearly brought on to be the loud, over the top, character. Just hate that every. single. sports network/show has bended the knee to cater to bullshit arguments and yelling.

From the rare coverage I have watched, fortunately, the others on the Fox set seem interested in discussing the tactics, plays and praising great play. Lalas is a literal clown.
