This whole thing and sudden timing is bizzare for sure, they have to already have their guy or at least think they have him?
Well here's what I'm certain about...if this drags out more than a week or two, they don't or didn't "have" their guy, and this could turn into a serious sludge fart.

After 13 years, Matta is no longer the head coach at Ohio State. Smith said his national search will begin immediately — though it probably already started before he and Matta stepped up to that podium Monday afternoon.

Does anyone actually believe that Smith already has a replacement in mind?
Just sayin': Maybe he does, why else would be "pull the trigger" now to fire Matta just 90 days after giving him a "vote of confidence"?
