2017 Offensive Coordinator Discussion

I think someone pointed out the 10th isn't approved yet :(...
would could happen is Stud might be out and Warriner back to OL.. or Wilson to QC for placement on the staff next year

It's going to be and the athletic departments are already aware.

Adding of a tenth assistant was unanimously applauded by coaching staffs accross the country (and why wouldn't it, it's 128 new full-time paid jobs).

The one piece of legislation that nobody is sure about is whether there will be early signing periods. Coaches were split on that.

But the additional coach will be in play for 2017-2018 season.

Hoping Warriner just moves back to OL and maybe Stud moves onto possibly Cincy with Luke? As disappointed as Saturday was maybe that was the best thing for tOSU to finally end the chapter of Tim Beck for good and move on. Next year is going to be a fun season.

I wonder if Warriner is staying will he be named assistant head coach since Fickell had that title. It won't be a demotion if he goes from co-OC to assistant head coach, more of a lateral move. Urban can spin it that Warriner being down on the field was a bigger for the team than having him in the booth.

Just curious: Who do you think is the better OL coach/recruiter Warinner or Studrawa?

Question: Who is the better OL coach/recruiter Warinner or Studrawa?

OL coach? It's impossible to say who is 'better' per se, given that Stud has only been here a season, but Warinner without a doubt has the superior track record. LSU fans did not like Stud's work with the OL, although as has been pointed out, that may have been hampered by the offensive scheme.

Stud probably has the edge as a recruiter.

In my opinion, go with the sure thing - the guy who orchestrated the near miraculous turnaround in 2014 and has been excellent throughout his tenure.

Stud hands down

Even as OL coach? Nutriatch said he was 'nothing special', and my other LSU friends had much less kind words

I guess if the NCAA approves 10 assistant coaches (which is expected to happen) they can hire Wilson (as OC) and keep both Warinner and Studrawa. However one probably then becomes the TE coach.

P.S. What is the difference between an Assistant Head Coach (Johnson & Alford) and an Associate Head Coach (Schiano)?

Good observation. I believe that is exactly what he'll do unless he goes elsewhere. Stud is most likely going nowhere.
